Tandem helps hardware teams keep design intent, requirements, CAD changes, and validation evidence connected as products evolve. As an early hire, you’ll work directly with customers and founders to make Tandem a product engineering teams rely on every day.
You’ll own the full loop—from understanding a customer’s workflow and deploying Tandem to training users, solving problems, and turning what you learn into product decisions. This is a high-ownership role at the intersection of hardware engineering, product, and customer operations.
What You’ll Do
- Deploy Tandem into real hardware programs and map fragmented workflows into a connected system
- Work directly with engineers and program teams to understand requirements, design reviews, CAD changes, and validation workflows
- Configure integrations and data flows, troubleshoot issues, and move deployments from pilot to daily use
- Lead onboarding, training, demos, and technical working sessions with customers
- Turn customer pain into product requirements and partner with engineering to ship solutions
- Own adoption and feedback end to end, building trusted relationships and repeatable deployment playbooks that shape the roadmap
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years in a hands-on hardware engineering, systems, test, mission operations, manufacturing, or technical deployment role
- Strong systems thinking and comfort moving between technical details and the broader workflow
- Strong product instinct; you can turn messy operational needs into simple, useful product decisions
- Technical enough to script, query data, and debug integrations with tools like Python, SQL, and APIs
- Clear, confident communicator who earns trust with engineers, operators, and technical leaders
- High ownership, low ego, and willingness to travel regularly and spend time onsite with customers
Strong Signals
- Worked in environments like flight or satellite operations, propulsion, med-device or hardware test, or complex manufacturing
- Deployed technical software or led customer-facing engineering programs
- Familiarity with CAD, requirements, DFM, test, or engineering-data tools
